Hi,

mame (genie bundled with it to be precise) no longer builds due to
luaL_register disappearing
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1864109
I reported this to upstream who advised to just use bundled lua-5.3. I
tried the approach found online [1] and, while it got me past the
compilation issue, it caused
PANIC: unprotected error in call to Lua API (attempt to index a nil value)
once the compiled binary was run. Would anybody be able to help? Thank
you in advance.

Best regards,
Julian
