Nope, no effect.

[root@thacker jat48]# rpm -e openoffice.org-core
error: package openoffice.org-core is not installed
[root@thacker jat48]# yum install openoffice.org-core

Checking, I see that there's a bunch of unowned files scattered around
in /usr/lib/openoffice.org1.9.89, even though openoffice.org-core is
removed.
(There's also old /usr/lib/openoffice.org1.9.88/share/readme
directories from previous versons, too.)
