As such I'm leaning towards retiring this package, except that a check on what requires it is a bit worrying (ujson requires it, and in turn many packages depend on ujson).

Interestingly, the upstream ujson repo does not seem to mention blist at all, so maybe its addition as a build requirement was just a mistake and we can unentangle the two:

The blist requirement is gone in 2.0.0; we should probably upgrade from the pre-release snapshot we've been using since 2017 (eek):
