Right, so maybe we are not seeing the same issue.
Based on your comment I checked the changes in sna_accel.c between the two builds (20180618 vs. 20200205) and there are actually very few changes, luckily.
One of them makes a call to `sna_accel_flush()` unconditional.
It's a complete shoot in the dark, but who knows... could you try this scratch build as well:
