this sounds very disturbing. Please clarify this.
What part is unclear and I can help rephrase it? Leave me try in advance, no single solution would satisfy the entirety of the stakeholder needs across the board so our choice, Gitlab, satisfies the majority. They have a strong team who work on community requested features where we will log any feature gaps for their backlog and future consideration, further moving us to a point where all requirements are met.
Fedora needs a
dist-git repo with certain features/workflows that might not make sense
for a generic git forge or in other words: A git forge might just be a
part of the solution that Fedora needs for dist-git. Does this mean that
the CPE team will implement the missing features that are not part of a
gitforge and therefore no priority for Gitlab?
Our goal is to ensure what we have today works in the future and we will undertake that work where it makes sense for us to do so.
Or will Fedora just get a
gitforge and need to figure out how to be able to implement their
workflows with it?
Kind regards
Till
