In one of the environments that I support at $WORK, I wouldn't have an option other than physical optical media. However, you are correct in that the example I provided earlier was for iDRAC (or equivalent) optical drive emulation. Several times, I have found images which would work with qemu's - cdrom option, but not with an iDRAC's VirtualCD implementation, or in an actual optical drive. -- John M.
