No, it didn't. I'm no fan of modularity but there is no need to blame it for things it is not responsible for. As I explained the other day js-jquery was dependent on a nodejs module (a normal one, not modularised) which was failing to build and which I have now fixed. The only part of the nodejs stack that is modularised is the actual nodejs engine - the large set of modules from npm are just normal packages and that is what was involved here.
