Bug-by-bug detail
=============

Accepted blockers
-----------------
1. mutter — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1749433 — NEW
can't turn zoom off once enabled

Zoom remains enabled, even after logging out and logging back in.
Issue filed upstream: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/826

2. distribution — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1747408 — NEW
Cannot upgrade to Fedora 31: package
exa-0.9.0-2.module_f31+5365+04413d87.x86_64 requires
libgit2.so.28()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed

Accepted as a blocker by FESCo, even though it does not affect default
package sets. Discussion is ongoing about how to fix this. DNF team
says it's a problem with the modularity spec.

3. dnf — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1752249 — ASSIGNED
Revert skip_if_unavailable default back to true

FESCo requested the default change be reverted before F31 final.
Upstream PR #1484
(https://github.com/rpm-software-management/dnf/pull/1484) enables the
defaults to be changed on a per-distro basis. dnf maintainers are
discussing how to deliver dnf.conf for particular distributions.

4. gnome-control-center —
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1750394 — NEW
Gnome Control Center crashes upon a typo in Printers settings

Typo in search field (e.g. 'socket>' instead of 'socket:') causes
application to crash. Filed upstream:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/issues/679

5. gnome-control-center —
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1750805 — NEW
Apply button stays gray on Network configuration

Wired network connections cannot be configured because the "apply"
button remains inactive. WiFi configuration works. File upstream:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/issues/677

6. LiveCD — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1751438 — NEW
Workstation x86_64 live image is over size target

Adding podman increased the size of the live image above the specified
maximum. A font pacakge was changed to optional in comps to reduce the
image size: https://pagure.io/fedora-comps/pull-request/414 .
Fedora-31-20190926.n.0 compose appears to be under limit.

7. mutter — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1754373 — NEW
Keyboard shortcuts NOT mapped to keyboard layouts

All shell keyboard shortcuts are broken, except for those where the
keys happen to be in the same position in both my keyboard layout and
en_US. Filed upstream:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/822

8. sddm — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1728240 — NEW
Cannot start Fedora-KDE-Live (F31) in basic graphics mode on BIOS machine

This issue only seems to affect BIOS machines when using basic
graphics mode. Regular graphics or UEFI does not exhibit this
behavior. It appears to be specific to the KDE spin, but the cause has
not been identified yet.

9. selinux-policy — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1750036 — POST
Problem with time syncronization

timedatex is retired and systemd obsoletes it. The next step is to
verify that time synchronization is functional in recent composes.

Proposed blockers
-----------------

1. blivet-gui — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1755813 — ASSIGNED
bios boot partition can't be created at the disk beginning, if a
partition already exists in the middle of the disk

blivet tries to place the BIOS boot partition after existing partiions
in certain configurations, which means the boot partition ends up
misplaced.

2. dnf — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1751103 — MODIFIED
dnf: configure_upgrade():
system_upgrade.py:410:configure_upgrade:TypeError: argument of type
'NoneType' is not iterable

dnf raises a TypeError when a repo has GPG checking disabled.
FEDORA-2019-6a6b241835 contains a potential fix.

3. gnome-screenshot — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1751646 — NEW
screenshots to clipboard don't work, clipboard doesn't contain any data

If the clipboard contains text, copying images to the clipboard fails.
Issue filed upstream:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-screenshot/issues/48 (but may be
this mutter issue instead:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/789)

4. gnome-shell — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1754630 — NEW
Automatic workspaces are seriously broken

There are several regressions in how workspaces behave, probably related.
Upstream bug: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/issues/1497
Debugging blocked by:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1754867 (also a proposed
F31 blocker, see below)

5. gnome-shell — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1755898 — NEW
numlock handling is seriously broken

Simplified version of complicated report: booting with numlock enabled
results in the numlock LED being inverted and gnome-shell having
inverted numlock status from apps.
Upstream bugs: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/714 and
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/769

6. python-blivet — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1750123 — NEW
blivet unable to use all the usable freespace regions

blivet does not support multiple LVM physical volumes per disk.
Upstream pull request:
https://github.com/storaged-project/blivet/pull/803

7. gnome-software — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1749868 — NEW
GNOME Software doesn't prepare offline updates

We are waiting to see if reverting the skip_if_unavailable change
fixes the original issue. The second failure case reported (comment
18) is a separate bug (1751103, see above) with an update available.

8. mutter — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1754867 — NEW
gnome-shell crashes when pressing Ctrl+Super in a GTK application

GTK applications crash when Ctrl and Super are pressed together. Not
reproducible with QT applications. Fixed upstream:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/823

9. spice-vdagent — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1755038 — NEW
VM clipboard integration wipes clipboard contents randomly and
frequently (X11 host)

Having multiple VM guests running makes copy/paste effectively
unusable. Upstream issues:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/spice/linux/vd_agent/issues/9 and
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/spice/spice-gtk/issues/82

10. xorg-x11-server — https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1755733 — NEW
Gnome Xorg session stuck immediately after login

Login sessions hang at a gray screen roughly half the time.
Uninstalling the xorg-x11-drv-intel package seems to fix it, but it's
not clear if that package may be needed in other cases.
