Hello everyone, I was a maintainer of PlayOnLinux on Fedora for some time and now is the time to say goodbye to the PlayOnLinux package. It won't be shipped anymore on Rawhide (Fedora 32)[0]. Reason is: It's python 2 only, it won't be migrated by upstream and there will not be any python 2 on Fedora 32[1]. There is work in progress by upstream to make a new version in Java called phoenicis[2] so they are writing it from scratch. The point is, I don't want to maintain Java based package. I don't have enough experience with Java and honestly I don't like Java based desktop applications (personal opinion). It was great to have this package in Fedora from 2016[3] but now it's time to say goodbye! If someone wants to look on the new PlayOnLinux version in Java feel free to start Fedora packaging :).
