Ordinarily, I'd argue against any negative UI/Ux where the user is harassed. But as developers are a large target audience, in particular for Workstation edition, I think demonstrating suboptimal behavior in applications while providing additional security could be serving a bigger purpose.
Windows enables firewall by default. macOS does not .
Anyway, it would be nice to get the security team's input on this.
