The following packages are orphaned and will be retired when they

Note: If you received this mail directly you (co)maintain one of the affected

retire your depending package to avoid broken dependencies, otherwise your

Grep it for your FAS username and follow the dependencies.
~380 packages can be unblocked if git stops buildrequiring jgit.

This dependency is only for the testsuite. Todd, do you remember what
tests required it? (It was added in commit 6dc62852).

As it happens, I do. There are 3 tests (out of many
thousands) in the git test suit which use jgit. They test
compatibility of the packfile format and ls-remote protocol.
They're nice to have, but if jgit is another casualty of
modularity, then it's easy to drop it.

It's a mild shame, since jgit was just fixed after a few
months of failing to even start.

I'll remove the jgit dep in rawhide shortly. Thanks for the
heads up Miro. And hi Pavel. :)

Note that jgit is not (yet) orphaned nor retired, and its dependencies might be picked up by somebody. I suggest to remove the dep in rawhide temporarily (to make the next weeks reports more readable and shorter to calculate (the present one took 2 days)). Once the dust settles, the dependency can be added back.

Thanks,
