The developers seem to have a strong preference for clang. The issue tracker has a couple of closed issues around this topic: https://github.com/ispc/ispc/issues/1355 https://github.com/ispc/ispc/issues/1352 I would try patching out the clang requirement from CMakeLists and building with system gcc.
