The update frequency is twice a year, the method is fully documented:

  https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DNF_system_upgrade

Simply refresh, download, reboot and wait a little while ...

It's hardly a burden, I've got at least 5 machines that have been
upgraded this way since Fedora 13.
