Good question!
The landing page of Rust section[1] tells users to `dnf install rust cargo`.
You probably refer to the Format Rust code page[2].
In case `rustfmt` is packaged in Fedora and you would recommend using it you can off course create the PR with the install directions.
There's nothing wrong with `cargo install`, as the FDP is intended for developers *on* Fedora, not necessarily using *vanilla* Fedora(see [3] f.e.), but all kinds of other repos/packages/flatpacks/gems/crates etc., as developers (usually) do. The intent is to have a short 'quickstart' for the developer with Fedora-specific(and tested) usecases.
