Has this been tested on OpenSUSE or Gentoo (I think either has already fully made the transition)?

I'm asking we still have some NIS bits sticking around, and we need to remove° them as well for the transition to an IPv6-capable NIS.

° As usual, we'll keep support existing binaries.
