I am the primary point of contact, so I don't know how you could orphan this package. It is not unused. Polymake has a weak dependency on ocaml-tplib-tools. (See /usr/share/polymake/apps/tropical/rules/tplib.rules.) I have not seen any bugs filed on this package. If you are aware of a FTBFS, would you please file a bug with what you know so I can evaluate the situation?
