Are you using Fedora's Firefox or straight from Mozilla? Right now I'm showing Fedora's Firefox is 51.

That said, I've had numerous performance issues with e10s in the Mozilla Firefox nightly and developer editions and I usually end up filing a bug at Mozilla and disabling it.
