Hi All,

Fedora is putting the final touches on its Google Summer of Code (GSoC)
application. We need your help to flesh out the project ideas and
mentors list. As in the past, they are being collected on the Fedora
Wiki:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Summer_coding_ideas_for_2017

If you are up for the responsibility of mentoring someone and would like
to try to find an intern via GSoC I encourage you to consider doing so
under the Fedora umbrella if your own project is not directly
participating. Read more about GSoC and being a mentor at:

http://write.flossmanuals.net/gsoc-mentoring/about-this-manual/
and
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/GSOC_2017

Don't hesitate to volunteer as a general mentor or to work with an
existing project idea. In an ideal world every student has more than
one mentor.

Remember, this is a learning experience so you must be absolutely sure
you are able to meet your mentoring responsibilities for the duration of
the project. The project needs to help a student and encourage them to
continue, so think about what you are proposing carefully.

I encourage you to contact me with questions. As I am new to GSoC I
also encourage you to contat me with advice. I look forward to working
with everyone involved.

regards,

bex
