'echo check > /sys/block/mdX/md/sync_action' works for either mdadm or
LVM RAID, as it's kernel code doing the scrub; but LVM does have a
command for it 'lvchange --syncaction {check|repair) vg/raid_lv'
There is something in Fedora that does this. I don't know whether it's
automatic in the kernel or there's a cron job. But my md RAID arrays
get scanned every once in a while and I didn't do anything to set that up.
