Here's an update: 

* With help from jberkus we have found that there are some locks piling
  up that break things. 

* We are putting in place a script that will kill long (hours) running
  things and log info about them. 

* We have increased the debugging level of koji hub to try and track
  down what parts of koji or clients is making the offending queries. 

* I just fired up kojira again (the app that handles buildroots) and am
  monitoring it. It should catch up here again pretty soon and then we
  can watch and make sure it stays on top of things. 

So, TLDR version: things should be back to working and we just need to
track down the offending queries for a long term fix.
