Thats kind of a long time to go with no builds at all.

The actual policy does call for a lot more notice than this, but it's a
pretty anoying process and people have tended to bypass it and use the
'quick bypass' version. ;(

Time is definitely at a premium for many of us. ;) 

And I would like to thank you for all the work you have done in the
past... very much appreciated. 

You do know you should be able to add yourself as co-maintainer and/or
re-take point of contact (If you feel you have time to), right?
