I'd love to help you to maintain soundconverter, I use it oftenly, and I don't want it to desepear :)
I'm in holiday now, but I'll be glade to help you since I can.
I don't have a big experience in package maintaining, I only maintain openmw in the rpmfusion repo.

It has not been a low-maintenance package. Lots of bugs, race-conditions,
debugging and fixing required. Upstream contact has been good.

The current version is based on Python 2 and GStreamer 0.10.x.
There is a bit of work already on creating a version based on
Python 3 and GStreamer 1.0.x API, but nothing usable yet.
