As I have stated in a few forums a much bigger win is switching fedpkg with fedpkg minimal in the srpm-build group in koji that will result in a much much smaller buildroot to make the srpm and work is underway to make that happen. at least in terms of generation times of the buildroots during the koji tasks. I also do not think make should be removed. I could see a case for gcc gcc-c++ but it needs further analysis of the 15k odd packages in fedora to see how many would need to add gcc or gcc-c++ to the BuildRequires and how many packages would get a slightly faster buildroot due to not needing gcc or gcc-g++ and having a few less packages installed.
