Hi,

You don't need open264 for webrtc, the only browsers that do webrtc today are Firefox and Chrome and they both use VP8.

Open264 is an "in case IE Safari and other MPEG-LA clients eventually do webRTC without VP8" thing (right now they dont want to). And its has a very nasty patent license http://www.openh264.org/BINARY_LICENSE.txt
