This means that \version is not defined.
Apparently, there should be a version.tex in the tarball, generated by
"make release". However, it is missing, and since \include is used to
read the file, not \input, there's only a warning, “No file
version.tex.” in the build log, the build doesn't stop with an error at
this point.
