Hi,

I'm working on packaging Salome (The Open Source Integration Platform
for Numerical Simulation) [1], and the cmake scripts there install tons
of binaries and python scripts to the /usr/bin/salome folder. Is this
acceptable?
No. /usr/bin is not supposed to carry subdirs.

Depending on what these files actually are (I don't know anything about this package), installing them to %{_libexecdir} or %{libdir}/<package> might be advisable.
