I've updated log4j in rawhide today. The packages that are known to be broken by this update are: apache-commons-logging apacheds avalon-logkit azureus bookkeeper eclipse-wtp-sourceediting eclipse-wtp-webservices hazelcast jamonapi jboss-logmanager-log4j jbossws-common-tools jdom2 log4j-jboss-logmanager mchange-commons metrics pax-logging snmp4j solr uimaj ws-jaxme Some of them are easyfixes (classpath issues and such), but some use parts of log4j that are not available through the compatibility bridge and need to be ported. Packages that are not on this list built fine in my mock, but it is still possible that there will be problems that will manifest themselves at runtime rather than build time. Please check them. ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Mikolaj Izdebski" <mizdebsk@xxxxxxxxxx> > To: devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Monday, May 5, 2014 3:20:21 PM > Subject: Re: log4j update in f21 > > On 05/05/2014 02:11 PM, puntogil@xxxxxxxxx wrote: > > Il 05/05/2014 13:41, Mikolaj Izdebski ha scritto: > >> Next week I am going to update log4j in rawhide from version 1.2 to > >> version 2.0-rc1 [2]. > >> > >> 2.0 ships with a module providing limited 1.2 compatibility. > >> For more info see [1]. > >> > >> List of 105 components which require or build-require log4j (and > >> therefore are possibly affected by this update) follows. > >> > >> [1] http://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/migration.html > >> [2] http://bugzilla.redhat.com/982541 > > hi > > close my https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1091036 log4j2 ? > > some required build deps such as > > org.eclipse.persistence:javax.persistence:2.1.0 JSR 338 (2.0.5 is JSR 317) > > org.eclipse.persistence:org.eclipse.persistence.jpa:2.5.0 > > broken compatibility with other libraries (e.g. springframework) > > I would suggest closing the review request and contributing to existing > log4j package - help is always welcome.
