Thanks, yes. Once upon a time in the decent past (like, embarrassingly long ago) it *was* a status, and apparently way too much of that is still in my brain. I went back and reread what I wrote, and I think it still makes sense with your clarification. The above was certainly exactly why I propose this -- it's not just moving around what we happen to call things, but has an actual positive change to the user experience. It is the case that it being a flag rather than a status makes it a bit more complicated to set up searches for bugs which are open but don't have the flag set.
