An invisible directory in everyone's PATH. That's rather unfortunate.

When will this be removed?
I agree, I don't have $HOME/.local/bin directory , but bug #699812 ,have
request the opposite ... , I don't see any good reason there but ...   

I agree that it smells like trouble security-wise. The original reason given was that it is required by XDG, but I don't understand the utility of ~/.local/bin : is it about separating local-arch binaries from common storage?
