But then, why they all named as xxxx-i386.rpm?
And then, for instance, when i comile KDE new from the scratch (with the sources from kde.org), it runs 2 times faster much more reliable than the original rpms.
There must be a diffrence...

Why? The packages are already optimized for the i686 architecture.
