A segfault is always a bug. This would seem to be the same as

Thanks; I've tested a mock build in Fedora 17 and RHEL 6, it seems relevant
also to 4.8, 4.9 and 4.10, as I have the same behaviour in each build.
Yup, its apparently present in all versions of rpm which support %caps.
The reason why it hasn't been spotted before this is that it apparently
only occurs if the %caps entry is either a wildcard or the last file. So
as a temporary workaround you can just move the %caps entry earlier in
the %files list and it'll build without crashing and burning.
There's already a RHEL-6 bug on this, and this is the real "duplicate"
of the issue you're seeing:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=904818
Do I need to open a new ticket or I can edit that by reopening?
Can the ticket be cumulative with Fedora new RHEL?
Feel free to clone #904818 for Fedora 17 and 18, but dont reopen #877512
as the issue in rpm 4.11-pre was slightly different (although closely
related)
