Hi, upstream does not build libmagic.a anymore since File-5.14. I don't know what was the original reason to even package this static library, but according to repoquery, nobody is using it. I'm removing file-static subpackage in rawhide now. If you use it, please start using shared library or tell me if there is some compelling reason to keep this subpackage there.
