I think you'd find plenty of support for that idea iff GNOME switched to
8 months as well.
I think his suggestion was to keep releasing every 6 months (as we do
now, loosely synchronized with the GNOME schedule), but support each
release only 8 months instead of 13.
I, for one, would be very much in favour of that.
