Looking over guake, I believe it just requires *a* notification daemon; Pierre-Yves can say for sure. gnome-session looks obsolete, and the nodoka theme could obviously be removed with it. Christoph may be able to speak to what LXDE could do with an alternate notification daemon, but he's travelling at least today.
