Any help > very welcome, thanks. I'd say it's the OOM killer in kernel what kills your processes. Do the generators run in parallel? From my experience on Fedora/s390 with somewhat limited resources, the top memory consumers are compiling large and complex C++ files and final linking of libraries/binaries (again from large C++ code) especially when run with "parallel make".
