hi, The AT&T AST OpenSource software collection [1] , The Heirloom Project [2] and Plan 9 from User Space [3] bring a lot of original UNIX tools/utils. Some of them have already been taken, mailx from Heirloom and ksh from AST. pax looks like a candidate. pax in Fedora comes from a OpenBSD port, made by SuSE in 2oo1 [4] . But the project was frozen||abandoned in 2oo5.
