You have to kill it before the yum sync See: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=134130 Turns out that because ORBit2 doesn't really obsolete linc (i.e. it doesn't export the linc API, just uses it internally) I was being terribly naughty by using Obsoletes: linc to make linc be removed on update.
