Not having support for multiple printers (unless you know the syntax of lpr) is really a huge handicap for end-user-friendlyness IMO
I thought I'd at leaste mention that by using xprint (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xprint/)
one can get this feature *now*.
Mozilla 1.7.3, Firefox 1.0PR1, and Thunderbird 0.8 query cups for the printer list. All of which are in rawhide. Now. Without xprint.
I'm using mozilla-1.7.3 on my box right now (and without xprint), the only printer listed for me is "Postscript/default". Am I missing something?
...Unfortunately, redhat has been reluctant to provide the support in their build of mozilla for it to work.
I'd say s/reluctant/strongly opposed/ to xprint but that has been discussed elsewhere and no need for déjà vu all over again.
The only responses I've ever seen/heard from redhat regarding xprint is a curt replies like yours.
I don't know about your deja-vu, but all I know is that xprint has worked for me personally going back to the mozilla-1.4 days. What's troublesome to me is that I see no harm in simply enabling xprint support in the mozilla builds, since it does nothing if xprint isn't installed and running, yet redhat *still* refuses to even allow that.
