Currently for F17, the main menu and troubleshooting submenu on the live images is almost identical to those on install images - see the following screenshots: http://robatino.fedorapeople.org/install_top_level_menu.png http://robatino.fedorapeople.org/install_troubleshooting_submenu.png http://robatino.fedorapeople.org/live_top_level_menu.png http://robatino.fedorapeople.org/live_troubleshooting_submenu.png On both installs and lives, the media check is in the Troubleshooting submenu. I think it should be on the top level, as the media check should normally be done in advance to *prevent* trouble, not in response to it (which is when most people will be looking under the Troubleshooting menu). I think it would also make sense for install images to make the media check item the default. For lives, it's probably best to default to the non-media check item (since one often just runs the live without installing from it). There are also some unnecessary inconsistencies between the install and live menus. I propose (for F18) Install top level menu: Install/upgrade Fedora 18 Test this media & install/upgrade Fedora 18 (default) Troubleshooting Install Troubleshooting submenu: Install/upgrade Fedora 18 in basic graphics mode Rescue a Fedora system Run a memory test Boot from local drive Return to main menu Live top level menu: Start Fedora 18 (default) Test this media & start Fedora 18 Troubleshooting Live Troubleshooting submenu: Start Fedora 18 in basic graphics mode Run a memory test Boot from local drive Return to main menu -- devel mailing list devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel
