So I need to invest a week or two setting up blktraces across multiple
application loads and come back with a series of graphs and charts to
show how little IO is done in /tmp?

Why does the Feature Owner get a pass from a simple statement of "less
IO" and I have to spend a lot of time and effort to dispute it?
