There appears to be a new libarchive package in Rawhide - libarchive-3.0.0-0.1.a.fc17 - which does an ABI bump (from libarchive.so.2 to libarchive.so.3). This was not announced ahead of time to devel@, as is required by policy: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Package_maintainer_responsibilities#Notify_others_of_changes_that_may_affect_their_packages Tomas, could you please alert devel@ (and ideally directly alert the maintainers of packages which depend on libarchive) when doing updates that break ABI/API in future? devel list, be notified :) [root@adam selinux-policy (master)]# repoquery --whatrequires "libarchive.so.2()(64bit)" PackageKit-0:0.6.19-3.fc17.x86_64 PackageKit-browser-plugin-0:0.6.19-3.fc17.x86_64 PackageKit-command-not-found-0:0.6.19-3.fc17.x86_64 PackageKit-debug-install-0:0.6.19-3.fc17.x86_64 PackageKit-glib-0:0.6.19-3.fc17.x86_64 PackageKit-gstreamer-plugin-0:0.6.19-3.fc17.x86_64 PackageKit-zif-0:0.6.19-3.fc17.x86_64 anaconda-0:17.1-1.fc17.x86_64 archivemount-0:0.6.1-5.fc15.x86_64 claws-mail-plugins-archive-0:3.7.10-7.fc17.x86_64 cmake-0:2.8.6-1.fc17.x86_64 cmake-gui-0:2.8.6-1.fc17.x86_64 ease-0:0.4-9.fc17.x86_64 gvfs-archive-0:1.11.0-1.fc17.x86_64 kdeutils-ark-6:4.7.3-1.fc17.x86_64 pinot-0:0.97-2.fc16.x86_64 totem-pl-parser-0:2.32.6-1.fc17.x86_64 tuxcmd-modules-0:0.6.70-2.fc15.x86_64 -- Adam Williamson Fedora QA Community Monkey IRC: adamw | Twitter: AdamW_Fedora | identi.ca: adamwfedora http://www.happyassassin.net -- devel mailing list devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel
