I think someone proposed (as an addition to UsrMove) having the /bin, /sbin, etc. symlinks deprecated and to remove them in a couple of releases. IMHO aside from necessary compatibility (such as the dynamic loader being in /lib{,64}), there's way too much history involved in /bin (and to a lesser extend /sbin) to ever consider removing the symlinks. More importantly, there's no compelling reason FOR removing them, other than somebody's idea of neatness. I have no problem removing compat symlinks when they are no longer needed; I just don't believe that will ever be the case for /bin, /lib{,64}, and /sbin. -- Chris Adams <cmadams@xxxxxxxxxx> Systems and Network Administrator - HiWAAY Internet Services I don't speak for anybody but myself - that's enough trouble. -- devel mailing list devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel
