Turning Beta installs into unbootable bricks doesn't sound very good. If installing grub-efi on upgrades is enough to make it work, this should be easy to solve. I can think of two ways to convince yum to always install grub-efi on upgrades: a) have grub2 require grub-efi; or b) have grub-efi obsolete grub.
