Have we actually switched all userspace to 64-bit on 64-bit machines? That would exacerbate the initrd size issue quite a lot, wouldn't it? As well as being significantly less well-tested than the 32-bit support was. Are the ExcludeArch trackers still up to date for ppc and ppc64?
