For the software for which I am upstream, I have started to replace those addresses in source files with the web page reference from the recommended license header of the GPLv3: You should have received a copy of the GNU General Public License along with this program. If not, see <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/>. IMHO, this is a good idea even for code which is GPLv2+. (GPLv2-only code (ugh!) should probably refer to http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0.html instead, or keep the postal address as recommended in the GPLv2.)
