I really don't see how a LightDM based greeter is going to be
significantly better one it reaches feature parity.

The only advertised benefit of LightDM is theming flexibility compared
to gdm from gnome 2/gtk2.  But for a gnome 3/gtk3 based gdm with CSS
theming support I'm not even sure that's true any more.
