I had a quick look at ELF headers and so on, but I think you are
right.  One issue is that no ocamlopt binaries are purely OCaml code;
even completely pure OCaml programs link to small pieces of
gcc-compiled runtime (it's probably a bug that debuginfo isn't
generated for those pieces).
