I ran into Github-related issues as well and filed a bug report: http://support.github.com/discussions/repos/4565-sha-in-download-filename-does-not-match-directory You can simply append the filename to the URL and it'll work, I'm using this for example in http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=lua-xmlrpc.git;a=blob;f=lua-xmlrpc.spec;h=7ab862ae4d5059dca5cdce1dee7c532e4b8921de;hb=HEAD The remaining problem really is the one filed above and some more people watching and commenting the issue could bring it higher up on the priority list.
