Lets also not forget that the motivation for changing memcpy was to get some speedup - has anyone seen evidence of any significant benefit of that glibc change? The BZ ref'd in this thread has linus' (simple) tests which dont confirm any benefit of the change compared to his simpler version (which does not go backwards). So why make a change which only has downside and little to no upside? The pragmatic side of is pushing to revert the change in glibc rather than create workarounds for it ... at least for now and until there is clear evidence of significant benefit to offset the obvious downside. Which apps gain - and by how much in real world situations ? Sounds like Adobe will fix it eventually anyway and in the mean time all will be peaceful ... and we can read/contribute to other threads!! gene/ -- devel mailing list devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/devel
