Long term programs that provide similar functionality with SIP will be of more use. I expect SIP to totally replace H.323 in the near future...

Possibly, but right now, the hardware based video conferencing units only use H.323, therefore a need for a H.323 gatekeeper.

They may have rpm's available somewhere on the site.
